Baroda: Municipal Commissioner of Vadodara Promotes Power-Saving Strategies

Baroda: Government staff were instructed to make the necessary arrangements for the maximum amount of electricity savings in government offices during the video conference, which was arranged under the direction and supervision of the state’s governor and chief minister. The municipal commissioner sent out a circular today directing officers and staff in every department to rigorously follow the guidelines for conserving electricity.

It has been said that we should turn off any lights, fans, and air conditioners that are not in use when the officer or employee is not in the branch or chamber, particularly during lunch or office closing hours. Other electrical devices, such as computers, should also be turned off when they are not functioning. When it is feasible to operate without light or with less light, we should conserve electricity appropriately, provided there is enough sunlight. The General Administration Department ordered the formation of a “Energy Efficiency Cell” on March 3, 2023, with the goals of examining the municipality’s potential for energy conservation and consumption control, developing alternative energy sources, creating and analyzing a database on the electricity consumption of the municipality’s various departments, and taking preventive action to reduce inefficient energy. However, many employees in the municipality’s headquarters, as well as in every zone, ward, and office, spend their leisure time playing computer games. Additionally, they download these games on their PCs or store them in a designated folder. Then it’s time to make sure the Municipal Commissioner and the administration take action against these workers who squander time and consume electricity excessively while on job.
