Flight Alert! – Following Operation Sindoor, in which military forces carried out military attacks in nine areas in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (Pok), Air India and Indigo have suspended flights to and from a number of airports, including Srinagar and Amritsar, till May 10.

Flight Alert to and from 9 airports are canceled by Air India.

“Air India flights to and from the following stations, Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot, are being cancelled till 0529 hrs IST on 10 May following a notification from aviation authorities on the closure of these airports,” the airline stated.

Additionally, Air India announced that travelers with valid tickets for travel during this period will receive a complete refund for cancellations or a one-time remission of rescheduling fees.

Air India noted, “Customers who have valid tickets for travel during this period will be offered a full refund for cancellations or a one-time waiver on rescheduling charges.”

Ten airport flights are canceled by Indigo.

In agreement with the orders of airport authorities, Indigo Airlines has canceled flights to and from ten airports till May 10.

“We are in the process of canceling all flights to and from Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Gwalior, Kishangarh, and Rajkot until 0529 hrs on 10th May, in accordance with directives from aviation authorities regarding airport closures,” IndiGo tweeted.

Prior to this, Air India had announced that two foreign flights via Amritsar had been rerouted to Delhi and that all flights to and from these nine airports had been canceled until midday on Wednesday, May 7. Indian Airlines just issued these directions in response to Operation Sindoor, which was carried out in the early hours of Wednesday, May 7, in the wake of the 26-person Pahalgam terror assault.

SpiceJet cancels flights to and from 6 airports

In the meantime, SpiceJet has canceled its May 7 flights to and from six airports.

Due to the current circumstances, SpiceJet has canceled its flights to and from Leh, Srinagar, Jammu, Kangra, Kandla, and Amritsar on May 7, 25. A complete refund or a different trip (based on availability) are options available to the impacted guests,” SpiceJet posted on X.

Akasa Air cancels flights to and from Srinagar

Flights to and from Srinagar have been canceled by Akasa Air in addition to Air India and Indigo.

“The airport in Srinagar has been closed for civil operations due to the current circumstances in the area. Our flights to and from Srinagar have been canceled as a result.

Srinagar airport closed for civilian Flight Alert today

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has verified that the airfield at Srinagar Airport has been closed. As a result, all civilian aviation operations have been suspended for today. Javed Anjum, the director of Srinagar Airport, told a Kashmiri local news agency that “no civil flights will be operated from Srinagar Airport today due to the airfield being closed.”

The action follows the Indian Armed Forces’ Wednesday precision strike on terror camps located across the Line of Control (LoC) in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, known as Operation Sindoor.

The airlines said in a post wrote that airports comprising Leh, Jammu, Dharamshala, Srinagar and Amritsar would be closed until further notice, further stating that departures, arrivals and subsequent flights would also be impacted.
