From Diamond City to Tourist Paradise: Surat’s Cruise Revolution Begins! : Center’s decision

Diamond City : Kanu Desai, the finance minister, unveiled 56 initiatives to improve South Gujarat’s infrastructure, including modern rail transportation, high-speed corridors, and healthcare facilities.
In his budget address on Thursday, Finance Minister Kanu Desai stated that 56 projects have been proposed to build world-class infrastructure in South Gujarat as part of the Surat Economic Region (SER). These seek to improve roads, infrastructure, industry, and tourism in the six districts of Surat, Bharuch, Valsad, Navsari, Tapi, and Dang.(Diamond City)
In the Surat Economic Region, Rs 50 crore was set aside for theme parks, beach hotels, cruise tourism, the Parsi circuit, hotels and beach resorts, and ecotourism. Gandhinagar, Vadodara, Surat, and Rajkot are also developing facilities similar to Ahmedabad’s Medicity. The government has almost finished building these facilities. Cancer and cardiac treatments in Rajkot, cardiac, kidney, and urology services in Bhavnagar, and cardiac, kidney, and urology services in Surat have all been allocated Rs 231 crore.
The development of gynecology and pediatric departments, including related newborn intensive care units, obstetric intensive care units, gynecology intensive care units, and pediatric surgery departments in Surat and Vadodara, is allocated Rs 44 crore. Additionally, it has been declared that Rs 41 crore will be used for the hostels for girls at nursing schools in Surat and Jamnagar.
In addition to the current Clean Air Program in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, and Rajkot, the FM allocated Rs 100 crore for the State Clean Air Program in Jamnagar, Junagadh, Bhavnagar, Gandhinagar, and Bharuch-Ankleshwar.
Regarding South Gujarat’s industries, Rs 785 crore was set aside for new projects in Ahmedabad, Jambusar, and Saykha as well as for continuing deep-sea developments at Ankleshwar, Sarigam, Vapi, and Surat.(Diamond City)
Annaouncing that 55% of the work on the surat railway metro project Furthermore, the finance minister declared that Rs 2,730 crore would be allotted for the Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar Metro and the Surat Metro. “The provision is made to ensure that citizens can access fast, reliable and modern rail-based public transport services,” Desai explained.

The Surat-Sachin-Navsari, Ahmedabad-Dakor, Vadodara-Ektanagar, Rajkot-Bhavnagar, Mehsana-Palanpur, and Ankleshwar-Rajpipla routes have all been proposed for high-speed, heavily trafficked corridors at Rs 278 crore. It was suggested that Rs 185 crore be allocated for the multimodal transport hub.(Diamond City)
The FM declared that the Center and Surat Airport would work together to expand the airport. A budget of Rs 210 crore has been set up for the construction of a greenfield airport in Dahod as well as the extension of the airports in Surat, Vadodara, Bhavnagar, and Porbandar.
In addition to new centers in Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar, Junagadh, and Mehsana, the FM announced the opening of state-of-the-art food and drug testing laboratories in Valsad. A budget of Rs 28 crore has been set aside for the laboratories. To improve cancer treatment facilities, Rs 198 crore has been set aside. The government allocated Rs 528 crore to upgrade and fortify 63 highways that connect the state’s quarries and industrial zones, including portions of the Valsad district.(Diamond City)
In partnership with the Union Textile Ministry under PM MITRA Park, the government announced Rs 300 crore for the Raw Water Supply Pipeline Project in Navsari on a PPP basis. Under Nirmal Gujarat 2.0, Rs 330 crore has been allocated for the door-to-door collection of solid and liquid garbage as well as the cleaning of public areas in 371 villages spread across 11 talukas of seven districts.
