Indian Army : Amid tensions on the Line of Control (LoC), Pakistan violated the truce for the fourth day in a row.
In locations across the Line of Control opposite Kupwara and Poonch districts, Pakistan Army positions opened fire with small arms without provocation on the night of April 27–28, 2025. The Indian Army said in a statement that Indian forces reacted quickly and efficiently.
For the third day in a row, the Pakistan Army opened fire on multiple Indian posts along the Line of Control on Saturday.
“Unprovoked small weapons fire was opened by Pakistan Army posts in the vicinity of Tutmari Gali and Rampur Sectors on the evening of April 26–27, 2025, across the Line of Control. According to a statement released by the Indian Army, “own troops responded effectively with appropriate small arms fire.”
Following the April 22 terrorist assault in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives, tensions between India and Pakistan have increased. The search for the terror attack’s perpetrators has been stepped up by the security services.
Houses of three more terrorists razed in J&K – Indian Army
In South Kashmir, security forces destroyed the homes of three more accused terrorists, bringing the total to nine since the Pahalgam terror incident on April 22, sources told HT on Sunday.
The homes of Jameel Ahmad in the Bandipora neighborhood of Naz Colony, Adnan Shafi Dar in the Shopian neighborhood of Zainapora, and Amir Nazir in the Pulwama neighborhood of Daramdora were destroyed.
A number of punitive measures, such as the suspension of the 1960s Indus Water Treaty and the cancellation of visas, have been announced by New Delhi.
In response, Pakistan closed its airspace to Indian carriers and suspended the 1972 Shimla Agreement.
Omar Abdullah, the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, cautioned against any “misplaced action that alienates people who have voiced their concerns over innocent killings,” but he did endorse a firm fight against terrorism and its causes on Sunday.
“There needs to be a strong campaign against terrorism and its causes in the wake of the Pahalgam terror assault. The people of Kashmir have freely and spontaneously shown their opposition to terrorism and the killing of innocent people. It’s time to build on this support and refrain from taking any inappropriate or divisive actions. Abdullah wrote on X, “Punish the guilty, show them no mercy, but don’t let innocent people become collateral damage.”
