NASA Astronauts – Sunita Williams Homecoming Live Updates:Real-time updates on Sunita Williams: After more than nine months on the ISS, NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams returned to Earth.
Due to unforeseen delays, Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore spent more than nine months on the International Space Station (ISS) before returning to Earth. At 5:57 p.m. ET on Tuesday, SpaceX’s Dragon Freedom capsule successfully landed off the coast of Florida close to Tallahassee (3:27 a.m. IST on Wednesday).
Astronauts Nick Hague and Aleksandr Grebyonkin joined “Butch and Suni” when they arrived to the ISS in December as part of a rescue mission organized by SpaceX and NASA.

“Welcome home, on behalf of SpaceX,” SpaceX Mission Control in California radioed.NASA Astronauts
The astronauts emerged from their charred capsule an hour after their 17-hour voyage, grinning and waving at the cameras as they were hurried away on reclining stretchers for standard medical examinations.
It was difficult to overlook the political overtones of the successful rescue, since the White House asserted that President Trump was responsible for the expedition. President Trump promised to save the astronauts who had been stuck in space for nine months. Thanks to @ElonMusk, @SpaceX, and @NASA, they safely landed in the Gulf of America today!
Last June, Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore embarked on an eight-day planned trip to the International Space Station. Due to problems with the propulsion system of the Boeing Starliner capsule, they were compelled to remain. The pair was the first crew to take a test flight of Boeing’s Starliner. Last September, the malfunctioning capsule made its way back to Earth.NASA Astronauts
(NASA Astronauts) Sunita Williams | Important details :
- During their 286-day stay aboard the ISS, Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore completed more than 4500 orbits and covered more than 121 million statute miles.
- NASA’s 45-day post-mission rehabilitation program will be implemented for the crew in order to assist them in recuperating from the physical consequences of spaceflight.

- The duration of “Butch and Suni” in space was 286 days, which was 278 days longer than what was originally projected. By the time of splashdown, they had traveled 121 million miles (195 million kilometers) and made 4,576 orbits around the Earth.
- After completing her third trip, Sunita Williams will have spent 608 days in space overall, which is second only to Peggy Whitson’s 675 days as a US astronaut. Last year, Oleg Kononenko, a Russian cosmonaut, broke a new world record with 878 cumulative days.
An Indian “illustrious daughter” is praised by a union minister.
Real-time updates on Sunita Williams: “A proud, relief-filled, and glorious moment! Union Minister Jitendra Singh commented, “The entire world joins in celebrating the safe return of this distinguished Indian daughter who has immediately gone down in history for the courage, conviction, and consistency with which she endured the uncertainties of space.” – NASA Astronauts

NASA Astronauts – How did they survive for the past nine months, and what did they eat?
Food on the ISS: The New York Post revealed on November 18 of last year that Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams, two NASA astronauts, had been consuming pizza, roast chicken, and shrimp cocktails while on board the ISS.
- (1)Variety of food: A knowledgeable insider claims that the astronauts were served pizza, roast chicken, tuna, shrimp cocktails, and breakfast cereal with powdered milk. NASA physicians kept an eye on their caloric intake.
- (2)Fresh vegetables is scarce: According to a person with knowledge of the Boeing Starliner mission problems cited in the paper, the crew’s access to fresh food was limited in order to maintain a healthy diet.
- (3)NASA photo: Wilmore and Williams were seen eating aboard the ISS in a September 9 NASA photo, which included some of these food items.

- (4)Depletion of fresh food: The insider pointed out that after three months, fresh fruits and vegetables were no longer available. The source stated in November of last year that “their fruits and vegetables are packaged or freeze-dried — and there is fresh fruit at first, but as the three months go by that goes away.”
- (5)Food preparation: On Earth, all meat and eggs were already cooked and only needed to be warmed up. Water from the ISS’s 530-gallon fresh water tank was used to reconstitute dehydrated dishes like soups, stews, and casseroles. Additionally, the station turns astronaut sweat and urine into drinkable fresh water.
- (6)Concerns about weight loss: The expert explained that any weight loss was not brought on by the ISS’s food shortage. Therefore, it should be abundantly evident that any weight reduction is not the result of inadequate ISS supply. Even for a long mission, there is an ample supply of food. In addition to additional supplies for unforeseen mission extensions, each astronaut aboard the ISS receives approximately 3.8 pounds of food every day.
