Russia Ukraine war : When the months-long conflict between Russia and Ukraine will end is still up in the air. For the first time, Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that he wants to hold peace negotiations in such a scenario.
With Easter in mind, Putin declared a 30-hour pause in the continuing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The conflict between the two nations then resumed on April 20. Ukraine and Russia are accusing one another of breaking the truce. Ukraine has referred to Putin’s ceasefire statement as a play ever since it was made. In addition, Russia demands that Ukraine maintain its neutrality indefinitely.

We hope that officials from the Kyiv government would share our sentiments. But Putin has repeatedly insisted that Ukraine hold elections to choose a new president who would serve as his rival. The Ukrainian constitution prohibits elections during the inevitable martial law imposed on the nation.
The Trump administration in the US is putting pressure on Putin and Zelenskyy, threatening to abandon its peace initiatives unless some progress is made. Since the initial weeks following Russia’s invasion in February 2022, there have been no direct discussions between the two parties.

At least three people were killed by Russian attacks in the southern Kherson region of Ukraine on Monday, following an unofficial 30-hour Easter ceasefire that Putin announced and that Kyiv claimed Moscow’s military consistently broke.
